We recognize disparities among different demographic groups in disease etiology, risk of diabetes complications, and differences in access to care and in effectiveness of treatment. We strive to fully understand the causes that lead to these disparities and to develop strategies to effectively address the differences. Our long-term objective is to use our scientific knowledge to identify and implement strategies to prevent, treat and reverse diabetes mellitus and its complications. Through our outreach activities, we engage with the communities surrounding our institutions to share our findings. We also help implement strategies that will halt the diabetes epidemic and directly benefit individuals with diabetes mellitus and related medical conditions

To create a better future for patients with diabetes mellitus through innovation in clinical practice, health service delivery, education, and research. As a leading-edge diabetes research center in Kerala and worldwide in which basic, applied and clinical research are integrated, we search to understand the mechanisms implicated in diabetes and its complications and wish to very significantly contribute to its prevention, treatment and cure.
